UK Status Resident. Widespread and locally common throughout the British Isles as far north as Aberdeenshire. Montgomeryshire Status Recorded from a handful of sites. Wingspan : M & F, 14-18mm. Confusion species M. lacteella. |
Flight time & Voltinity
(Univoltine)  Habitat Open woodland, waste ground and gardens. Foodplant Willowherb spp. Lifestage data Leaf miner. Eggs laid on the foodplant. Larva makes a large blotch mine often covering the whole leaf. Pupates in an ochreous cocoon in the mine or soil. |
